AMAZING ANIMALS
Los alumnos de 1º ESO B de nuestro centro, bajo las directrices de sus profesoras de Inglés, Alma Gómez y Soledad Pizarro, aprenden vocabulario animal, realizando un trabajos de investigación de Genios sin Barreras, sobre algún animal genial.
De este modo, los alumnos han repasado los contenidos impartidos de una manera eminentemente práctica creando un material expositivo dentro de las metodologías activas y haciendo hincapié así en la enseñanza de competencias como «la autonomía e iniciativa personal», “el tratamiento de la información, “la competencia digital» y “la competencia de aprender a aprender».
Estos animales no dudan en poner sus vidas en peligro para ayudar a las personas que los necesitan.
Tenemos tanto que aprender de ellos.

AMAZING ANIMALS: Read the stories of these incredible animals that the students of 1º B share with us. These animals don’t hesitate to risk their lives to help people in need. We have so much to learn from them. They are real superheroes!
KABANG, THE DOG
Kabang is a small dog, with beis-colored fur and brown eyes. Kabang risked his life to save the life of his owner's niece. The bitch pushed the girl and her friend out of a road, as a car approached in the opposite direction and at high speed.
Kabang suffered very serious injuries, but with the help of donations from many people he had surgery and now can enjoy a happy life with his owner and the two people he saved.

PLASENCIA CANINE UNIT
Hey are the two Police dogs from Plasencia, the two Belgian Malinois shepherds who together with agent JUAN CARLOS GUTIÉRREZ, from the canine unit of the local police, work in the fight against drugs in the city. They work together for more than 8 years now.

9 /11 HEROES
On one of the most terrifying days in US history, September 11, 2001, a lot of help was needed to get through the terror and chaos. About 100 dogs were involved in the search-and-rescue. Due to their exceptional sense of smell, a huge number of people were rescued from the debris.
I love dogs, they are very good animals and they won`t hurt humans.

JAMBO, THE SILVERBACK GORILLA
Jambo was a silverback gorilla who lived in the Jersey zoo (USA) until he died in 1992.
One day, while Jambo was in his cage, a five-years-old boy named Levan Meritt fell in Jambo's cage, which left him unconscious.
All of the people were horrified to see the gorilla pouncing on the boy, but the gorilla only wanted to help him: he stayed covering him until he woke up, which was when he walked away and let security into his cage. Now, there is a statue in his honor in the Jersey zoo.

Hello, today I am going to tell you about my dog named "Granada" who saved the life of a cat.
One day my dob began to bark (ladrar) at night and we did not know what was happening, my father got up in the middle of the night and went down to the barn the dog was crying, not knowing what It happened, my father made himself to her and she tried to bite (morder) him.
The next morning my father woke me up and told me that yesterday the dog tried to bite him, so I was very surprised and I ran down to the barn to see what was happening to the bitch and when I opened the barn the bitch was nursing (alimentar) a kitten!

The ``HERO CAT ́ ́
The cat saved the 4 year old baby for the attack of the dog.
The baby rode in his bike and the dog dragged the boy. The cat was scared of the dog and the cat stopped the boy hurt himself. They call it the``HERO CAT ́ ́ .
The boy’s father didn`t know what hit him when the cat in that moment enter in the action to save the boy.

THE LION QUEEN
This story happened to a 12 years old girl . She was locked up for a week by 4 men that beat her (pegaron) . They were stopped by 3 lions who attacked them and made them flee (huir) . The lions thought the child was a baby lion since she was crying, and they protected her until the police arrived.
The lions never hurt the girl, and the 4 men were caught (atrapados).

The dolphins are intelligent and friendly marine mammals.
Thanks to a group of dolphins, the actor Victor Van Dyke was saved from
drowning while surfing. They took him to shore.

Pigs save many lives. Humans use them to eat. They are also used to make clothes, cosmetics ..., But pigs also help fight the flu A or flu (gripe), for example. Even diabetics have been able to survive thanks to their insulin, also biological heart (corazón) valves come from pigs.

He lost consciousness, but Kelsey barked until a neighbor heard her and came to the rescue.

WHALE SAVES BIOLOGIST FROM SHARK ATTACK
In 2007, near Cook Islands, a marine biologist was swimming and saw a whale, It was coming closer. It wasn't a problem but the animal started to push the woman with the head and the stomach. Strangely, the whale tried to move the woman not only one time. The biologist went to the boat to investigate what the whale was doing and suddenly she realised that there was a shark close to her! The whale tried to warn her about the dangerous animal! This happened because the whales protect their babies from the danger. This animal, used its instinct with the woman who was in danger with the shark.

REIVINDICAMOS EL DEPORTE FEMENINO CON LUCÍA FERNÁNDEZ...
Ayer miércoles 10 de marzo en la asignatura de Educación Física con la profesora Clara Fernández, hemos recibido la visita de Lucía Fernández, antigua alumna del centro y actualmente jugadora profesional del Getafe Fútbol Femenino.
Una nueva actividad de "CHARLAS CON GENIOS" de nuestro "Proyecto Genialidades sin Barreras", realizada dentro de la Semana de la Mujer del IESO Quercus.
Con el objetivo de visibilizar el papel de la mujer en el deporte y reivindicar una igualdad de oportunidades, Lucía ha contado su experiencia deportiva a los 3 grupos de 2º ESO.
Posteriormente varias alumnas del centro, entre ellas Carlota Fernández, Ángela Fernández (su hermana) y Candela Fernández, entrenada por Lucía hace años en categorías inferiores, la han entrevistado en @RadiouQuercus. P

Una chinata rompiendo el techo de cristal...
Hoy miércoles día 10 de marzo, dentro de la Semana de la Mujer, tuvimos una CHARLAS CON GENIOS por Meet dirigida al alumnado de 3ºESO y PMAR con SARA OLIVA bajo el título "Una chinata rompiendo el techo de cristal".
Sara estudió matemáticas en la universidad de Salamanca. Ha trabajado como gestora y consultora de análisis y datos (Global data & Analytics manager) y actualmente es Jefa de análisis y datos en Pepsico. Ha trabajado por medio mundo: Escocia, Londres, EE.UU., Sudáfrica, Holanda y Rusia entre otros. Actualmente reside en Holanda.
Ella jamás se imaginó que desempeñaría el trabajo y puesto que hoy desarrolla, que viviría en Holanda y que sin tener unos altos conocimientos de inglés, trabajaría por todo el mundo.

Comenzamos unos días dedicados a la Mujer, para concienciarnos de que no existen barreras reales y concienciar a eliminar esas barreras creadas...
Disfrutaremos de muchas actividades, de muchos testimonios que han superado barreras y han llegado algo.
Y también disfrutaremos del cartel realizado con la ilustración de Judith López, alumna de 4ºESO y el diseño de la profesora de Educación Plástica Visual y Audiovisual, Cristina Blázquez.
